When we announced our food drive two weeks ago and invited our clients to drop off donations at our shop, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. But Calgary? You absolutely blew us away.
Thank you to every single person who brought food items to Jacksonport Glass. Every single item you dropped off is now on its way to helping Calgary families this holiday season.
Seeing our clients come through the door with donations, taking time out of their day to help neighbors they’ve never met – that’s what Calgary is all about. That’s community.
Mission Accomplished (And We’re Just Getting Started)
Our December 20th drop-off is complete, and all donations have been delivered to the Calgary Food Bank. But here’s what we’re even more excited about: we’re making this a monthly commitment.
Why the Calgary Food Bank Matters Year-Round
As a Calgary local glass shop, we’re part of this community. We work in your homes across Bridgeland, Mahogany, Forest Lawn, and Tuscany. We replace your windshields, replace your window glass in every neighborhood in this city. When Calgary does well, we do well. So when our neighbors need support, we show up.
More Than Just a Holiday Donation
Jacksonport Glass is committing to monthly donations to the Calgary Food Bank. Not just for the photo op or the warm feeling at Christmas (though that’s nice too), but because consistent support makes a real difference.
What This Means Going Forward
Every month, Jacksonport Glass will donate food and resources to help Calgary families put meals on the table. It’s not going to solve everything – but if it helps even one Calgary family have dinner tonight, it’s worth it.
And who knows? Maybe we’ll do another community collection drive in the future. You’ve proven that when we ask Calgary to help Calgary, amazing things happen.
